COUNCILMAN FRITZ SCHERZ UPDATE REGARDING 11th ANNUAL TOWN-WIDE HOLIDAY PARTY

Fred “Fritz” Scherz, Jr., Councilman on the Verona Town Board, will postpone his 11th Annual Holiday Party for all Town of Verona residents. This event has been held either the first or second Sunday of December for the past 10 years at the Verona Fire Hall (5555 Volunteer Ave.) in Verona.

“The last 10 years my family and I hosted this event, there has been a rather large crowd. Given the current social distancing requirements and limitations due to COVID-19, if we held the event this year, it would be very difficult to properly social distance and we would not want to risk someone getting sick because of this event. Because of this, regretfully I’m postponing this year’s Holiday Party. This also means that we will not be able to collect non-perishable food items for the Town of Verona Food Pantry. Despite this, I want to encourage folks to contact the Town of Verona Food Pantry at (315) 813-3477 and make arrangements to donate directly. Hopefully, things improve regarding COVID-19 and then we can hold our Holiday Party in the future as my family and I really look forward to hosting this event each December.”
